Guardian Group is supporting the Chinapoo United Sports Club’s Back-to-School Programme ahead of the start of the new academic year. The club received a financial donation to assist with the purchase of school books, uniforms and stationery for under-privileged children in the Chinapoo and Morvant/Laventille communities.
Eloy Burge, President of Chinapoo United Sports Club explained that a number of children in the community are unable to attend school due to poverty. “Our mission is to reduce truancy and ensure that more students have an opportunity to attend school and remain enrolled in the school system,” he said.
Ayesha Boucaud-Claxton, Group Head, Marketing and Communication said, “Guardian Group is committed to the sustainability of the communities in which we operate. Investing in the human capital of our communities through education and leadership development is key to achieving this.”
Approximately twenty-seven (27) children will benefit from the Back-to-School initiative. Chinapoo United Sports Club is a registered non-profit organisation geared towards the social development of the youth in the Chinapoo and Morvant/Laventille communities.
