Guardian Group has distributed the proceeds from our flagship corporate social responsibility initiative, the SHINE 5K and 10K Charity Walk and Run, reaffirming the long-standing commitment to improving the lives of children and young people across Trinidad and Tobago.
At the SHINE 2025 cheque distribution ceremony held on Monday 15 December, 2025 at the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Guardian Group announced that more than TTD $780,000 raised from this year’s race will be distributed to over 30 charities and institutions dedicated to nurturing, protecting and uplifting children. The funds will support programmes focused on education, wellness, protection, counselling and youth development for vulnerable children.
In keeping with Guardian Group’s regional outlook, a portion of the proceeds will also assist children in Jamaica as communities continue recovery efforts following the impact of Hurricane Melissa.
SHINE, which stands for Securing Hope for those In Need, is Guardian Group’s signature charity initiative. Since its launch in 2015, the event has generated over TTD $4 million in donations, supported more than 200 charities, and positively impacted the lives of over 20,000 children across Trinidad and Tobago. SHINE is focused exclusively on children’s causes, with 100 per cent of proceeds donated each year to children’s charities and associated institutions.
