Guardian Group continues its strategy to empower and develop the next generation of business leaders through its sponsorship of the National Secondary School Entrepreneurship Competition (NSSEC) for a seventh year. The launch of the competition took place on Thursday 3rd October, 2024 at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA).

Samanta Saugh, President, Guardian Life of The Caribbean, delivered sponsor’s remarks on behalf of Guardian Group, addressing approximately 600 students from schools across Trinidad and Tobago. She underscored Guardian Group’s support for the young entrepreneurs as they navigate the programme now and establish their businesses in the future.

“By empowering you—the next generation of innovators—we are helping to create a more diverse and dynamic economy. An economy where new ideas flourish, where small businesses can grow and compete on a global stage. This sponsorship reflects our deep belief in the power of entrepreneurship to shape the future and Guardian Group is thrilled at the opportunity to play a strategic role in equipping young entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to turn ideas into thriving enterprises” she said.

NSSEC provides students with the opportunity to experience the gains and challenges of business through gamification.  Students are tasked with managing all aspects of business, including manufacturing, marketing, sales and product design.
